This is Shonan Kosakusho daylight signalling lamp made in 1981, married with a Russian military gyroscope tripod.

The lamp is made from copper and brass with some great mechanical features such as lamp focus mechanism and shutter controlled by the handle on the back, the lamp also has pan and tilt levers for locking the fixture into position.

The lamp is a 1000w tungsten lamp original to the fixture, this is controlled by our own panel designed and built at Loomlight.

The controller is made up from a mixture of old and new materials.

The main switch is a brass isolator reclaimed from an old Eastern European factory made in the 1970's, the handle for dimming is taken from another Japanese search light.

And the Voltage meter reads the dimmed voltage so as you turn the handle the readout follows.

All the components are fitted into a copper clad galvanised box.
