Our Story

In 2014 Loomlight was born - brain child of Andy Iliffe (pronounced Eye Lif), a lighting engineer and designer for over 20 years working with renowned international bands.  With a flourishing family life Andy wanted to reduce the time he spent away from his family….and so began the idea of running his own lighting business from the garden shed!

Andy’s passion for fantastic design, solid build quality and items built to last, coupled with his vast amounts of engineering experience were the perfect recipe for salvaging and restoring original industrial lights.  With others out there with great taste loving his restored industrial lighting, it wasn’t long before Loomlight out-grew the garden shed and kitchen table.  Andy’s attention for detail and desire for nothing but the best have led to Loomlight becoming a fully-fledged family business now being run out of a workshop in Leicester and still growing.

Andy scours the globe salvaging industrial lights and furniture, mostly from ships travelling miles at sea.  Then bringing them back to our workshop where the restoration process begins and the next chapter of the lights story is up to you.......
