2ft Flame Proof Strip Light manufactured by Pauluhn, Texas, USA.
 
These rare examples were made in the 1970's for use in hazardous areas on super tankers and cargo ships travelling cargo around the globe.
 
The design and construction is second to none, over engineered to with stand the harshest of conditions.
 
Consisitng mainly of cast aluminium which was originally painted, this has now been removed and expertly polished without removing the finer details of the Paulhuhn text cast onto either end of the fixture.
 
The cable entry fittings are signed by Crouse Hinds who are also an Amercian manufacturer of high specification electrical installation equipment.
 
All aspects of this light have been expertly restored to original condition and conforms to the orignal U/L requirements.
 
Both shades have had the original painted work restored, and the original flourescent tube lights have been replaced with LED's along with the wiring which has been updated to conform to British standards.
