Explosion Proof Wall Light, made in Japan circa 1970. Made from cast iron, brass and glass, this light originates from super tankers and cargo ships.
 
The base is made from cast iron with a brass and steel cage that has a quite unique shape for this kind of light, this unscrews to reveal the glass dome which twists off.
 
It fits directly to the ceiling / walls using the feet on the base.
 
The cage casts a breakup shadow over the surrounding wall and is a great ambient effect especially when they are used in pairs or more.
 
The seal between the glass and steel base and the cable entry has been replaced to restore its outdoor rating which is IP56, good for all applications indoor or out and also wet zones in the home.
Comes with an Edison Vintage 40w Radio Valve Bulb fitted.
