VEB mild steel & aluminium pendant with swinging cantilever wall mount.

 

 

VEB was formed in he early 1950's and was the biggest luminaire manufacturer in the GDR.

 

The Publicly Owned Operation (German: Volkseigener Betrieb; abbreviated VEB) was the main legal form of industrial enterprise in East Germany. 

 

The VEB's were all publicly owned and were formed after mass nationalisation between 1945 and the early 1960s, and the handing back in 1954 of some 33 enterprises previously taken by the USSR as reparations.

 

These original reclaimed pendants have been restored for use in domestic and commercial environments.

 

A great solution for kitchen islands, dining tables, breakfast bars and even snooker tables etc...Or hang at high level to light larger areas.

 

The glass rim has three quick release catches which open to reveal the lamp.

 

They have a lovely aged patina and date back to the 1970's where they were used as cargo bay lighting.
